2020 Tet Lunar New Year of the Metal Rat

The Lunar New Year comes early on the 25th of January this year and ringing in the new year, and decade, is the rat. The rat is the first sign of the Chinese zodiac, so it is like the beginning of something new. 2020 seems like a very significant year with so much happening around this country and the world. It feels like something big and new is sneaking just around the corner.

Year of the Metal RatFor people born in the Year of the Rat, this new year should bring much greatness. In fact, 2020 is Year of the Metal Rat and is considered a lucky year for all signs bringing great luck and prosperity. The Chinese zodiac signs are divided into 5 elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water.  People born in the Year of the Rat are generally smart, witty, active, kind and likeable by all. Moreover, metal rats are also considered reliable and stable with great strength, luck and fortune achieving ambitious goals.

Once again celebrations are abound with the two large festivals happening close by.. The annual and largest Tet festival, held by UVSA (Union of Vietnamese Student Associations), is returning to the OC Fair & Events Center for 3 Days celebrations from Firday January 24th - Sun. 26th. Another large Tet Festival is the 2020 Tet Lunar New Year Festival taking place at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley also occuring on Firday Jan 24th through Sun. 26th. Also the nationally televised Tet parade will be marching down Bolsa Ave. in front of the Asian Garden Mall in Little Saigon on Saturday, the 25th of Jan from 8am - 12pm. Likewise, many other Lunar New Year events will be taking place all over California and in Asian communities all around the world. It's time to put all the craziness in this world aside and rejoice in this special New Year event.
